The event was called Gran Fondo Hincapie, and was held in Greenville, SC, in October 23-26, 2014. Lee Olive, Charlotte personal injury attorney stated, “This ride is such fun, every year, and I know I’m helping with the fight to end Diabetes Type 1 when I ride in it.” Mr. Olive raised raised $4,410.00 more and exceeded his original goal of $4000.

The JDRF partners with USA cycling to give riders expert coaching and training to help them develop a program to track their progress and prepare for the ride day. Coaches help all riders set realistic goals, monitor progress and provide clinics on everything from injury prevention, form and technique to changing a flat bike tire. All coaches have been in the program for at least 10 years and have all the resources riders need to be successful, safe and smiling at the end of the ride.
