Sponsored by the North Carolina Bar Association, attorneys from all over the Charlotte Mecklenburg area and in nine other locations across North Carolina participated in the Ask-A-Lawyer Day. On the January 31st volunteer event, Olive Law Firm’s Charlotte personal injury attorney Whitney Brooks, together with other volunteer lawyers, spoke with and provided advice where possible to citizens free of charge.

About the Ask-A-Lawyer Day

During the event, lawyers were on hand to meet one-on-one with individuals. Questions varied and covered a wide range of topics including bankruptcy, consumer , contract, criminal, employment, estate, family, tax, and housing law. Although lawyers were there to give advice, volunteers were covered under malpractice insurance and no attorney-client relationships were formed.

The Ask-A-Lawyer Day was held at the offices of Legal Services of Southern Piedmonth and Legal Aid of North Carolina in 1431 Elizabeth Avenue Charlotte, NC 28204. “This was an opportunity to help answer questions and get out in the community to help others. It was a great event, and I enjoyed volunteering and giving back to the Charlotte community,” Whitney Brooks, Charlotte accident attorney at Olive Law Firm, said.
